We invite everyone to join our Beach Cleaning Day.
During the last month of April, the Community Engagement team provided you with some initiatives in honor of Earth Day 2023, for you to participate in and to help invest in our planet.
What is it and how does it help: The Internet and the supporting systems produce 900 million tons of CO2 each year. 90% of data is waste - it will never be used after creation! By the simple action of deleting duplicate photos, videos, and e-mails you can reduce your carbon footprint and help slow down climate warming.
As a result of this initiative, we managed to free up 8 GB. That might not sound like a lot but 8 GB equals 8000 MB, which equals 8000 emails which equal 250 kW that was used to send /received the emails, which again equals the same amount of energy of a light bulb that is on nonstop for more than FOUR months. I bet you are surprised that such little action from your side can have such a big effect.
Why: There are 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic debris in the ocean. Of that mass, 269,000 tons float on the surface, while some four billion plastic microfibers per square kilometer litter the deep sea.
On Friday, 28th of April, in the afternoon We will motivate Infor employees, from different departments to meet at Barceloneta Beach to join forces to clean up our beloved city beach.
In addition, we got some help from the Initiatives Oceanes, which provided us with the tools and materials needed.
THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING
